Feedback on the Washington Avenue Safety Improvement Project Design process:

•  Location A: Intersection of Lowry Triangle, Washington Avenue at Atlantic Avenue, Pacific Street and Underhill Avenue. (Located within Community Board 8)
• Location B: Intersection of Washington Avenue at Classon Avenue and President Street (Located within Community Board 9)
• Location C: Intersection of Washington Avenue at Montgomery Street

 The Department of Design and Construction (DDC) in partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOT) has begun the Design work for Project ID: HWK1672. The project will include intersection improvements including curb/sidewalk extensions and realignment, installations of pedestrian ramps, pavement markings, traffic/pedestrian signals, street lights, bus pads, pavement reconstruction and other street amenities to meet the current design standards.

Should there be any incidental sewer or water main associated with the project, it will be necessary to temporarily shut off the water services in order to complete the work.  If there are particular occasions, observance, holidays or other special considerations that the DDC should be aware of when water shut offs would be particularly intrusive. Please let us know.

Also,  please share this information with your neighbors and advise us as soon as possible of any concerns or issues you can identify presently that you believe should be considered during the project design.
