HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO SPRAY PESTICIDE TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF MOSQUITOES AND THE RISK OF WEST NILE VIRUS IN SELECTED PARTS OF BROOKLYN

To reduce mosquito activity and the risk of West Nile virus, the Health Department will spray pesticide from trucks in parts of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting. In case of bad weather, application will be delayed until Thursday, September 10, 2015 during the same hours. The neighborhoods listed below are being treated due to rising West Nile virus activity and have high mosquito populations.

Parts of Crown Heights, Greenwood Heights, Kensington, Park Slope, Prospect Lefferts Garden, Prospect Heights, Prospect, Park South, Sunset Park, Windsor Terrace.

Bordered by Atlantic Ave, Carlton Ave, Flatbush Ave, Prospect Park West, 15th St, and 5th Ave to the North;  5th Ave and 52nd St to the West; Fort Hamilton Pkwy and Caton Ave to the South; Flatbush Ave and Franklin Ave to the East
