DESCRIPTION:New York State now recognizes 16 and 17 year olds as young adults eligible for service on New York City’s Community Boards.  The Youth on Boards/Project 118 Campaign needs your help to identify\, seat and support two 16-25 year olds on each of the 59 Community Boards in New York City by summer 2016.  The Youth on Board is designed to education young adults and the adults who work with them about possibilities for and the realities of service on Community Boards.  Participants will have an opportunity to work with seasoned mentors on Board Committees and learn about the challenges and concerns facing their community.  They will have a real voice in the decision making process as they help plan the future of their neighborhood. \nBrooklyn Borough President Adams is sponsoring a Youth Participation on Community board Boot Camp on Saturday\, May 16\, 2015 from 10-2pm at Borough Hall\, 209 Joralemon Street\, Brooklyn\, N.Y.   \nFor information and free registration\, includes lunch\, please visit Youthcbbootcamp.eventbrite.com or call Al Kurland\, PAL Project Coordinator at 212-477-9450\, ext. 360.
