OneBrooklyn campaign and the Brooklyn Public Library\, District 13 community members\, designers\, planners\, and representatives from the New York City Department of Education will come together to imagine a new middle school to be located at the northeast corner of Sixth Avenue and Dean Street. Breakout sessions will allow attendees to explore requirements for facilities\, common space and street design to create a 21st century learning environment\, as well as to identify and address safety concerns in the environment where the school will be situated. The results of the charrette will be compiled into a report for presentation to the Department of Education and the School Construction Authority.

DESCRIPTION:Representatives will be on hand signing New Yorkers up for their free NYC ID cards at the next Community Board 8 meeting which will be held at Concern for Independent Living\, 151 Rochester Avenue\, Brooklyn\, N.Y.  from 6-8 pm. \nIDNYC is the new\, free identification card for all New York City residents\, which gives all of us the opportunity to show who we are—New Yorkers.  As a government-issued photo identification card\, IDNYC secures the peace of mind and access to City services that come from having recognized identification. IDNYC benefits every city resident\, including the most vulnerable communities—the homeless\, youth\, the elderly\, undocumented immigrants\, the formerly incarcerated and others who may have difficulty obtaining other government-issued ID. \nIDNYC cardholders can access services and programs offered by the City as well as by businesses. IDNYC helps enhance public safety\, by serving as a recognized ID for interacting with NYPD. It also helps New Yorkers gain access to all City buildings that provide services to the public and is accepted as a form of identification for accessing numerous City programs and services. IDNYC also provides a dynamic series of benefits to cardholders\, including a free one-year membership at many of the City’s leading museums\, zoos\, concert halls\, and botanical gardens.

At scope meetings\, Parks staff\, the designer\, elected officials\, residents\, and community board representatives come together to share ideas about the project.
